The 4th Annual 2018 Rex Denton Jr. Artistic Achievement Awards Program

Entries

The pencil portrait awards program is limited to Kindergarten – Sixth grade students from Fordsville Elementary School

Original work

Student submissions must be created specifically for this program.  Entries must not have earned prior awards.

Portrait subjects

Portrait or Head Only.  Subjects can include Humans, Animals , Wildlife or Fantasy Characters.

Medium and Paper

In 2018 the required Medium is pencil as it was Rex Denton Jr.’s favorite.  No colored pencils please.  Standard  No. 2 (HB) is in the middle others include 4H – 9B.  Drawing paper will be provided.

Judging

At least five (5) qualified judges will review each portrait and enter a numerical score with age and grade consideration.   All scores will be entered into and  tabulated by a database.

Awards & Certificates

Every participating student will receive a certificate of achievement.  1st, 2nd and 3rd Places will be awarded to each grade level with one Best Overall award.  Click below to learn about Runner ups and all the awards.

Timeline

Registration was August 20th-September 20th.  The deadline is the close of school on September 20, 2018.
